BIZZY LIZZY HOUSE AND GARDEN CLUB

What a wonderful privilege it was to speak to the members of the Bizzy Lizzy House and Garden Club at the Jagersbosch Community Centre on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, about the evolution of interior design and the trends we are seeing in 2026!

We discussed, among other things, how our living and working spaces are changing; the growing popularity of open-plan and multifunctional spaces; clever built-in storage; quiet luxury; wellness design; smart technology; sustainability; and why personality is more important than perfection today.

The 2026 trends are bringing nature increasingly into our homes through biophilic design, warm earthy colours, rich textures, curves and organic forms. Natural and sustainable materials, handcrafted objects, atmospheric lighting, spa-inspired bathrooms, luxurious kitchens and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces also play an important role.

ALLEGAARTJIE’s beautiful décor products displayed at the event complemented these trends perfectly. With Allegaartjie’s abundance of products in natural materials and warm colours, together with layered textures, organic forms, exceptional craftsmanship and unique handcrafted pieces, every home can become a warm and personal reflection of its owner.

Hertex HAUS made a special contribution to the event by providing a beautiful selection of products for the exhibition. HAUS’s handwoven rugs, natural fabrics, linen, wool, wood, marble and woven surfaces can be layered to create warmth and visual depth. The aim is not perfection, but rather a home that feels authentic, comfortable and personal.

The carefully curated finishes of the FLEUR DE VIE LIFESTYLE ESTATE were also displayed during the event as a practical example of how the 2026 design trends can be applied in a modern South African home. The palette reflects a relaxed coastal lifestyle through the use of warm neutral colours, natural textures and simple, refined details. The Fleur de Vie finishes highlighted an important design principle: a successful interior begins with a well-considered architectural foundation and material palette.

Ultimately, the 2026 trends are not about short-lived fashions. They are about creating homes that are warmer, more functional and more personal—spaces that can adapt to our lifestyles while promoting a sense of well-being.

A heartfelt thank you to Bizzy Lizzy for the warm welcome and to everyone who made the event so special!
